Who starts a fitness challenge during King Cake season? Apparently Chandler, my trainer at Lagniappe Fitness does! Come to think of it, it may not be a bad idea since it’s also Ball season.

Yesterday I weighed in, took my before photos, got my In Body Scan and I set my goals.

Oh lord y’all…

I weighed in at 216.3 pounds. I know, I carry it well. What is that they say…”I’m big boned.” LOL!

While the pounds are definitely my focus, my In Body Scan is what caught my attention.

 

What bothered me the most was my Visceral Fat level. It was a 15 which is high. Visceral fat is the fat that surrounds your abdominal organs. Too much of it can lead to cardiovascular disease. That scared me. I already have high blood pressure.

I sat sat down with Chandler to discuss my goals.

Obviously my first goal is to lose weight. We determined that 8 pounds was a realistic goal, as you should only lose about 2 pounds a week. I’ll take it! We also talked about reducing my visceral fat level by 1 point. This will only happen if I follow the plan which includes healthy eating and exercise. As I’ve mentioned before, finding the time to go to the gym is difficult with my schedule so I will have to workout on my own. Chandler has an app and posts workouts on Outtaboxfitness. My diet is also my problem. I don’t cook and eat out almost every day. Oh and there’s champagne, my beverage of choice. Over the next 30 days I will not pop bottles but instead I’ll be twisting tops off of water bottles! I hope I don’t lose followers!

 

I ate my last meal at Ruth Chris with my family today!
