The song says it all “I’m living my best life” and that without a doubt is what I think that I’m doing but the truth is…I’m not living the BEST life for me. 

I promised myself that I would do better. Fast forward to almost a year later and I’ve gained even more weight and developed health issues. I hear people say, “you are still pretty.” I never said I wasn’t, I’m just overweight. 🙂 

Fifteen pounds turned into twenty, then twenty-five and now thirty-five. How did this happen? Well, IG is pretty good at keeping track of all of that. Since becoming more and more active with my brand, I’ve made more dinner reservations and attended more happy hours. I’ve skipped the gym though. Why is that? I can’t even say that I don’t have the time because that would be a lie. The truth is, I haven’t felt like it. Last year, I was diagnosed with sinus bradycardia (low heart rate). My heart doctor has given me the green light to work out, but I’ve just haven’t been in the mood. Anyone who knows me will say that a few years ago, I lived in the gym. 

I can be honest and say that the extra pounds chip away at my confidence. When I’m shopping for shoots it becomes an issue (I’m a size 12 or 14) and at times it’s quite discouraging…nothing fits. Looking at pictures I can’t help but notice the bulges and the rolls. I’ll admit that I have tons of photos that will never make it to social media. Oftentimes, I’ll just crop my face, if it’s a gorgeous photo of me! 🙂 

I’ve realized that in this IG/blogging world that beautifully curated posts are important. But are they really more important than the individual? Lord knows that I love a good meal, a cold glass of Rose’, a gorgeous bag and a badass pair of shoes, but I also love myself…more. It’s time to make my health a priority, again. 

So,over the next 5 weeks, I’ll be embarking on a journey with Mark Berger to start reclaim my Best Bougie Life! I’ll still enjoy life, but just on a healthier scale! I will share my healthier food choices, my “mocktails”, cheat meals, and workout classes, as well as a weekly update on my progress!
