It was all good just a week ago…in Tampa! I booked a weekend getaway to Tampa with my best friend of 20 years to celebrate a dear friend’s birthday and business launch. Since I had never been to Tampa, I purchased The Scout Guide! When I travel, I need to know about 3 things:

1. The mall

2.  The drinks

3.  The brunch spot

We arrived at the airport and it was time to pick up our rental. I should mention that we are both moms of beautiful young boys. So what would you do if you were a mom, on vacation, with no car seats? Well…we had too much luggage for a 2 seater (yes, it was a 2 day trip)….so I picked the next best thing! A Maserati!

We pulled up to the hotel, which was pretty close to the airport and as soon as I stepped out…there it was… the International Plaza mall. My bestie knows me so well! This was not only a mall but it was also surrounded by restaurants (Neimans, Zara, Louis Vuitton, Cheesecake Factory). The Renaissance Tampa International Plaza Hotel was very modern. I loved the decor, which was a color palette consisting or gray and yellow. Yep, they provide robes and an added bonus was that the toiletries are Aveda products.

My Saturday morning started early with a makeup appointment. Dee Dee Cardenas had my face “beat to the Gawds’ and I was ready to see Tampa. We hopped in the #BougieRati and the first stop wasThe Oxford Exchange, a European-inspired space with a restaurant, coffeehouse, bookstore, Warby Parker and gift shop.

The next stop was Armature Works. As soon as I stepped inside, I immediately thought of St. Roch Market. We decided to eat lunch and listen to the live music in the courtyard of the Heights Public Market. There were so many food options and since I was on my Vegan diet that day, I decided to order the vegan empanada from Flower Power.

After lunch, I was determined to visit a spa and nail salon (TSG Tampa recommendation). We headed to Spa Jardin and Melt Out. Melt Out is the place to go for an express mani and pedi!

We decided to grab a quick bite for dinner at Capital Grille before heading to Franklin Manor for a night out.

On Sunday morning, we brunched at Boca Tampa. This cute “Farm to Table” spot did not disappoint. Of course there were bottomless mimosas and bloody mary’s. We ordered our fave, the Avocado Toast along with a tomato salad, chicken and waffles (Siracha syrup) and berry Chantilly pancakes.

The last stop before heading to the airport was Hyde Park Village, an outdoor shopping mall with beautiful fountains.  I had to stop by the Sprinkles ATM and Hyppo Gourmet Ice Pops.

Tampa is #NolaBougieApproved my Bous! I will definitely return soon…maybe when we play Tampa on December 9th!
