We asked Mojo what he wanted for his birthday and he shouted “to go to Margaritaville!” He didn’t want a birthday party. He didn’t ask for another remote control car. He wanted a vacation! Yep, he’s our kid! Now hold up, this isn’t the Jimmy Buffet’s Margaritaville that we’ve all been to in Key West. If you ask Mojo, it’s better!

Here’s why.

It’s about an hour drive from New Orleans. For parents, this is a win. Anything longer than an hour by car, is questionable.

It’s affordable. Visit the website at https://www.margaritavilleresortbiloxi.com/specials for discounted rates and deals!

If you walk really fast towards the elevators you just might distract the kids enough and they don’t look up the escalators. That’s where the games are. I’ll let you know here that the elevators will require patience. Keep in mind that there are lots of families on the property, so elevators are slow at times.

The rooms are nice and clean. The resort is a little over a year old, so it’s still fresh. The bed was comfy and linens all white. We opted for the King Executive Suite which included a sofa sleeper and a view of Deer island.

There are a few dining options at the resort. The first night we dined at Doe’s Eat Place, which specializes in steak and tamales. The kid’s spaghetti was Mojo’s choice. We also indulged in the 3,500 calorie Volcano Nachos from Landshark Bar & Grill! There is a coffee shop, which serves Coffee and Cocktails! We also ate breakfast at the Margaritaville Restaurant. Check out those pancakes! I will also say that food service may be a little slow at times.

Ok so this is what you came here for. The FUN! The Family Entertainment Center is where you will spend all of your money! Your kids KNOW it’s there. Two words: Sensory Overload! They wake up at 6am and ask to go there. They won’t want to leave. Then YOU get sucked in and you don’t want to leave. Listen, I beat my own child at air hockey.

After they run out of credits, it’s time to  head to the pool. Family Fun! There’s a small water playground area for the littles and a larger water slide for the big kids…adults too. Mermaids even make a special appearance. Let’s not forget the lazy river and the swim up bar! On Friday nights there is a Summer Splash Bash DJ pool party and on Saturdays there is live music at the Margaritaville restaurant.

So I asked Mojo a few questions about Margaritaville in Biloxi:

Q: What was your favorite game?

A: Racing games.

Q: What did you like about the pool?

A: The slide and the popsicles.

Q: What did you like about the room?

A: The sofa changed into a bed.

Q: What would you want to tell other kids?

A: Tell your momma to bring you and the games are for adults too.

I think it’s safe to say that Mojo enjoyed his birthday celebration at Margaritaville in Biloxi. If you missed my IG stories, he cried when we left! He’s already asked to come back. I’m certain that we will be back soon, especially since I was told that they are adding an amusement park and the first flying bar!

Biloxi is a great destination for a quick getaway with your family, your Boo or even your girls! Stay tuned for  “NOLA Bougie visits the Gulf Coast!” If you have any questions about the Margaritaville Resort in Biloxi, let me know. Don’t forget to tell them that NOLA Bougie sent ya!
