Hey Bous! I’ve decided to try something new for the blog! I’m changing the format because if y’all are like me, when you see a whole lot of words, you don’t read them all! So, I’m breaking the posts down into categories! Let me know if you like it and if there are additional categories what you would like to see! I’ll switch it up based on your feedback!
Evenings with Enrique
On Wednesday, I hosted Evenings with Enrique at the New Orleans Botanical Gardens with my Bou Maloney of Travelerbroads. The weather was absolutely perfect as we listened to the sounds Manny Arteaga Duo. I even took a break from my Alcohol Fast and enjoyed a few Mojitos! Evenings with Enrique continues through the end of the month from 5-8 pm and features Raphael Bas (April 10), Roberto Perez (April 17) and Julio and Cesar (April 24), thanks to the Helis Foundation. Don’t forget about the free admission on Wednesdays for Louisiana residents.
Bougie Foodie- The Pelican Club
We celebrated my friend’s birthday last week with dinner at The Pelican Club. The Pelican Club is located in the French Quarter and serves creole cuisine with an Asian flair. There is a 4 Course Prix Fixe available. My favorite dish to order is the BBQ Shrimp Clay Pot. Obviously this isn’t your traditional BBQ shrimp dish, it’s more of a soup with a spicy kick!
For my entree, I ordered the Louisiana Jumbo Lump Crabmeat Spaghetti Fino (Creamy Sauce with Corn, Onions, Lemon, Parmesan, Basil & Buttered Focaccia Bread Crumbs). It was delicious!
What’s a birthday celebration without a Chantilly cake or 3! It’s our fave!
Even though the Selfish Bingo game is over, I plan to keep it going and share how I put myself first for the week! I lucked up and got in with my Bou Elise at Esthetique Facial Spa last week! She gave me a double exfoliation and a mask…I needed the works! I hate extractions though! She brought tears to my eyes!
No makeup! Fresh faced! 40 where? We will talk about this green drink later this week! Don’t forget to mark your calendars for the Self Care Expo on May 11th from 12-4 at The Historic Carver Theater!
I took a stroll down Maple Street and walked into Swap. If you haven’t heard of them before, they are a designer consignment shop. Bous, let me show you these shoes! Brand new and I had to have them! Perfect for White Linen Night! I can’t wait to wear them!
That’s my recap! I have so much more to add but I didn’t want to overload you so I’ll save it for the next edition! Give me some feedback! Let me know what you want to see!
